There would also, then, be no reason to go back in time to prevent him from doing the assignment... Unless he made a constant mental note to invent a time travel machine to skip an assignment he never had to do. And then... he would have a memory of an infinite amount of Calvin's arriving the day after the had to do the assignment. Ugh.
